The vision for renovating this 1980s house was to have the entry and staircase as an inviting window to the house, revealing a revival to the classic contemporary while maintaining a comfortable and relaxed feel. In this project, the renovation began by replacing the existing floors with contemporary timber herringbone, the walls were painted in neutral, soothing tones, creating a fresh backdrop that brightened up the space and allowed for versatile styling.
The kitchen underwent a complete transformation, featuring classic modern cabinetry, sleek marble countertops and a functional, stylish cooking area. Similarly, the bathroom was overhauled with new tiles, fixtures, and fittings, ensuring it was both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
A standout feature of the house, the bar which was revived to become a focal point for socializing and entertaining. The staircase was given a new lease on life with a bespoke sisal/wool runner.
New window furnishings were installed, choosing options that allowed natural light to filter in while providing privacy and enhancing the overall decor. The final touches included styling with carefully selected furniture and soft furnishings that emphasized comfort and relaxation. This thoughtful approach to the renovation transformed the 1980s house into a modern, inviting home that reflects both style and comfort.
The overall result is a cohesive, stylish, and serene living space that meets the needs of modern living while retaining the home's character.
